Marcy, Adam and their sweet puppy met Melissa and I in Sedona for their fall engagement session. After talking on the phone and a few Skype meetings we were so excited to finally meet this wonderful couple! We spent time with Marcy and Adam by the creek at Los Abrigados and up in the beautiful red rocks on Schnebly Hill. We look forward to this couples amazing wedding! Congratulations!
We met Josette and Brett in Oak Creek Canyon on a beautiful fall day. This was our first time meeting them in person since we Skyped for our consultation, so we were very excited! Josette and Brett are such a cute couple, always have a smile on their face and make each other laugh. They had a very calm fun loving vibe about them. We look forward to spending more time with them at their wedding in May at Sky Ranch Lodge in Sedona. Congratulations you two! Enjoy your engagement!
Gold aspen leaves are what define fall in Flagstaff. A couple of weeks ago we met up with the Gross family on a brisk but beautiful fall morning at Aspen Corner. One of the best parts of our job is that we get to watch families come together and grow. Melissa photographed Lauren and Justin for their engagement in fall of 2009. About six months ago we were honored to photograph their newborn, precious baby Kendal. After creating a relationship with our clients we are always happy to see them again. So we were especially excited to see this family for their family holiday portraits. It is amazing how much babies grow in six months! Kendal is such a little lady, with the cutest personality. Kendal’s room is decorated in yellow and grey and has been a consistent theme in her photographs. We just adored Kendal’s yellow corduroy shorts, I kinda want a pair:) Myra, the families sweet boxer, really appreciated that we were outside instead of our studio this time. She loved racing around, finding sticks, and looking for birds. Lauren, Justin, Kendal and Myra, we always enjoy seeing you and catching up on your life. Thank you for being wonderful clients! We can’t wait until Kendal’s 1st birthday! ~Kristen
I’ve known the Brown family for a long time. During this session I was thinking back to my own wedding when Derrick stood at the alter with my husband as one of his groomsmen. So much as changed since then, and yet, so much has stayed the same. The Brown family will always be interwoven in our lives as some of our closest friends, and acutally, they really are more like family to Grant and I. We’ve watched them start a family and have been so lucky to witness these little angels grow up. We joke amoung our circle that Tamara and Derrick have somehow managed to create “mini-me’s” of each other, the kids resemble their parents so much! Each year I look forward to photographing this family, but, honestly, I always get really, really, nervous before photographing people that I care about so much. I always hope that I can somehow convey through my lens just how much we love them. I hope you enjoy these sweet photos of our even sweeter friends at the beautiful West Fork Trail in Oak Creek Canyon. We were there during the last of the fall colors and it was gorgeous. Thanks for being such great friends to us Tamara and Derrick! I look forward to the years to come! ~ Melissa
