I just love living in the college town of Flagstaff. Northern Arizona University, with its 20,000 students, brings so much to the table. Each year, I get symphony tickets, go see various plays, volunteer with my alumni sorority, get to see some great collegiate sporting events and even get to use the Sky Dome to do some serious leg exercises sprinting to and from the bottom of the field. But my favorite part is meeting wonderful students each year as they prepare to graduate.
Nikki came to her session with some great props and a smile that lit up all of Old Main. She was so sweet and I loved hearing about her future plans, all wrapped up in fresh excitement that made me excited for her.
We chose Old Main, the oldest part of NAU, for her photos. The historic buildings stand tall over the grassy lawn, and remind everyone who pass, they are part of a larger future of NAU graduates.
Congratulations Nikki! I can’t wait to hear where the future takes you. ~ Melissa
Belle is graduating from Trion High School this May and we were so delighted to have been able to capture this special time in her life. Belle wanted something a little different for her senior photos so we brainstormed and decided on the ecletic, artsy and urban Southside district of Chattanooga, Tennessee. It was a beautiful day, and a near miss with a huge thunderstorm, and we enjoyed exploring the downtown area. I loved the fantastic murals of the Southside and the artsy vibe of that neighborhood. We ended the shoot in the North Shore area of Chattanooga with a walk on the fantastic Walnut Street Bridge. Congratulations Belle and we’re excited to see what your future holds! xoxo
When we got the call from Ryan’s mother Marcy that it was time to do Ryan’s senior portraits we could have not been more excited! We have been photographing the family for years so it was extra fun to see how Ryan has grow up. The family just moved back to Flagstaff after years in the Phoenix area so we decided to stick with the downtown scene for his portrait session. Ryan is a natural in front of the camera, I don’t think there were any bad photos!
Senior year is such an exciting time, we love photographing these kids and hearing about their plans for the upcoming year and after graduation. This beautiful girl was no exception. Melissa and I recently got the pleasure of photographing Connor, a Flagstaff High School Senior. Connor is so sweet and full of life. She has one of those infectious smiles that makes you want to smile right back at her. We met Connor and her mother downtown for the first part of the shoot and then headed up to Aspen Corner and Snowbowl before sunset. Connor loves the outdoors and said she always wanted to take her senior photo’s in the aspens. Connor we wish you the best of luck, you have a very bright future! Thank you for being so wonderful to work with!! ~Kristen
Kristen and I met Kati at the Radisson Bridal Fair back in January. She’s currently doing an internship in her program with Little America Hotel here in Flagstaff. Kati is studying Hotel and Restaurant Management at NAU and is approaching her graduation date soon! Since that was Kristen’s first Bachelor’s degree, they had lots to talk about. We did almost all of this photo session on the campus at NAU, which is a really beautiful backdrop. And, except for sloppy snow, the weather was gorgeous! This already stunning girl treated herself with professional hair and make up from the talented Christine at Northern Arizona Glam Squad. She looked absoulely perfect. It was funny, when we were editing the photos, we keep telling each other, “OMG, look at her eyes!!”. They are so beautiful. Congratulations Kati! We wish you a wonderful last semester at NAU and a successful future! ~ Melissa
